Dear students,
We are happy to share good news with you about your study permits.
We have been informed earlier this morning that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Government of Québec have come to an agreement on the processing of study permits. In order to accommodate international students destined to attend CDI College, the Government of Quebec and IRCC have agreed that the acknowledgement of receipt received in the student’s electronic file following the submission of the online Temporary Study Selection (TSS) application, will be accepted by IRCC until May 15, 2021. Please visit Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada for more information.
The study permit application will be processed by IRCC and then placed on hold until the student provides the CAQ or CAQ acceptance letter. The decision regarding the study permit will be made once the CAQ is received. You will then receive an official response from the government (visa approval or rejection) by August 6, 2021, at the latest. Therefore, if you have already submitted your application, we advise you not to withdraw it. This includes applications submitted before December 30, 2020 by students who are waiting to join their programs and by students who started studying online with AIP (Approval in Principle).
We understand the past few weeks have been stressful, but we are confident that it is only a matter of time before you receive your students permits. We remain committed to your educational success and available to help you in any way we can.
