CDI College is pleased to offer the Support for Assistive Services in Health and Social Services Institutions – 5905 DVS program, which also prepares graduates for careers as Health and Social Services Assistants (HSSAs).
Designed with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning, this program will help you develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to provide care and assistance to people of all ages in healthcare facilities and home care settings. You'll learn how to promote patients' comfort, safety, independence, and quality of life while working collaboratively with healthcare teams.
Training Designed for Today's Healthcare Environment
The program combines classroom instruction, hands-on training, and supervised clinical placements to prepare you for the realities of today's healthcare workforce. Throughout your studies, you'll develop skills in areas such as:
- relationship-centred approaches;
- assistance with activities of daily living;
- communication and collaboration;
- first aid;
- infection prevention and control;
- long-term care;
- acute care and critical care; and
- palliative and end-of-life care.
By the time you graduate, you'll be prepared to provide compassionate, professional care to individuals with a wide range of needs in a variety of healthcare settings.
