Laval, QB – March 13, 2013 – For 13 years, the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge has mobilized communities throughout Quebec and raised funds, support and awareness for families of children with cancer. Last year, 9,000 people took the challenge and raise over $4.7 million in donations for children with living cancer.

This year, CDI College in Laval will be involved in an event on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 12:00pm and they’re asking for your support. The campus is looking for participants who will agree to symbolically shave their heads or sponsors who will help with gifts or donations. Those interested in helping the Laval campus can register to participate or make a donation at tetesrasees.com.

Founded in 1978, Leucan is an organization that strives to help cancer-stricken children and their families believe in a brighter future. Each year, thousands of Quebecers take part in numerous fundraising activities that help Leucan promote well-being, healing and recovery for children living with cancer. Some of the larger events include the 12-Hour Ski Challenge, the Money Box Campaign and holiday greeting card sales.

Donations are used primarily to provide children with cancer and their families all over Quebec with various services adapted to their needs through all stages of the illness. Leucan is active in all areas connected to family life and provides financial assistance, information, emotional support, guidance and social and recreational activities. The funds also support clinical research in province.
