With our newest initiative, CDI College has launched Business of the Week, where we support local, small businesses across Canada and strive to aid their brand awareness and economic recovery, post pandemic.
Did you know? Small businesses have historically contributed up to 40% of Canada’s total economy – that's almost half of Canada's GDP! A majority of these businesses are in accommodation, hospitality, and food services industries, so supporting local can also mean delicious food for you! Meet Cake & Doe – our first small business in Red Deer, Alberta.
For co-founders Taneen and Mandi, home-baked goods are their specialty. Their inspiration derives from nostalgia for the past, while indulging in the present, with flavours bursting from every bite. Cake & Doe strives to be a part of the essence of future memories and the magic that life has to offer.
As for the Doe – can you really bake cookies without taking a taste before they hit the oven? Their selection of goodies includes edible cookie “doe” in both classic and sugar cookie bases, with a selection of different mix’ins to create signature flavours.
Cake & Doe also offers a selection of cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. You can see their full selection here.
For a limited time only – and in partnership with CDI College – Cake & Doe is offering a 10% discount for everyone in the Red Deer community. Upon check out, be sure to present this discount code: #C&DTHANKSCDI.
Over the next six weeks, make sure to check back on the blog and on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, as we’ll be featuring new businesses each week. Use the hashtag #CDISupportsLocal to join in the conversation and join us on this journey to support our local businesses across Canada.
Small businesses are vital to our local communities because of how they serve our staff and students. Get on that “doe” and we’ll see you online!
