At the beginning of December, CDI College and campuses reached out to our students for their support to help local food banks across Canada. Thanks to your generosity, CDI College’s 2021 annual food drive was an overwhelming success. During the course of December, we received more than 1000 items of non-perishable food donations.
Every month, hundreds of thousands of Canadians turn to food banks for access to fresh, quality food. Food banks in Canada are under constant pressure to assist those living with food insecurity all year round.
If you would like to further support those in need, please reach out to your local food banks to find out what they need most. Some of the items that are constantly in demand are:
- Pasta and Sauces
- Canned goods—beans, soups, stews, meats, vegetables, and fruits
- Whole grain cereals.
- Infant foods and baby formula
- Bathroom tissue and diapers
- Personal hygiene products
Financial donations are also needed, and allow foodbanks to leverage their buying power to purchase in bulk, and also to buy fresh foods, including milk, proteins, and produce.
