With companies such as KPMG and Ernst & Young stationed in Toronto, young accounting professionals may find the city to be the best bet when pursuing a career at a highly respectable firm. The Globe and Mail announced Greater Toronto's Top Employers of 2012, and these companies, along with several others, were at the top of the list.
Size was not a factor in the competition. Innovative companies that achieved high ranking scores in categories such as physical workplace, work atmosphere and social culture, health benefits, time off, communications and community involvement were the businesses that prevailed.
Two of the Big Four accounting firms, Ernst & Young and KPMG, both have company cultures that their employees are proud of. The positive attitude of the workers and a sense of a close-knit support system are both qualities that each company values.
Those interested in a career in accounting will benefit from a fundamental education. The Accounting and Payroll Specialist program at CDI College provides students with a background in general accounting, payroll and bookkeeping. For more information, fill out the form on the right.
