Toronto, ON - March 29, 2012 – CDI College now offering its industry-recognized Legal Administrative Assistant program at all six Ontario campuses. Students of the new program will acquire the knowledge and skills legal employers seek in this competitive job market in just 35 weeks.
Legal Administrative Assistants are a key element of every legal team, and employers favor proficiency in law office policy and procedure. Working with industry-experienced instructors, students learn day-to-day organization and management of a legal office, including terminology, litigation, court system procedures and legal record and book keeping.
The law is a living thing, adapting as new circumstances arise in our society, and CDI College keeps pace. Using curriculum enriched with input from legal professionals, students probe the complexities of today’s Canadian legal and court system, as well as examine the latest on wills and estates, real estate, corporate and commercial law, civil litigation, and family law.
Increased use of the Internet and information technologies means employers are looking for a combination of job-specific knowledge and technical skills. Through hands-on practical activities, students build strong transcription and keyboarding skills, and become adept with the software used in modern law offices, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Landing and keeping the right job requires interpersonal, teamwork and communications know-how. In small classrooms intended for personal attention, students analyze and practice these highly desirable skills through case studies, group exercises and discussions.
