The Dental Technician program at CDI College covers all the fundamental skills needed to land a job

Surrey, BC – May 29, 2013 – Dental Technicians can go by many names, but one thing they have in common is their training. Focusing on the creation of crowns, bridges, retainers, dentures and other dental appliances, a Dental Technician must master many skills before finding work in the field.

There are only five colleges in Canada that offer a program in dental technology. The Dental Technician program at CDI College is available at its Surrey campus and provides students with the education they need to enter the field in less than two years.

During their training, students in the Dental Technician program learn to design and create a variety of dental apparatuses out of materials like ceramic and metal. They are taught to use computer software specific to the dental technology field, aiding them in their day-to-day work. Students also learn about oralfacial anatomy, laboratory health and safety and marketing, to round out their education.

It also helps to have hands-on experience, which is why the Dental Technician program at CDI College includes two separate practicums, allowing students the opportunity to work alongside professional dental technicians and practice their new skills. By the time students graduate, they’ll already have nearly 500 hours of work experience in a dental lab.
