Abbotsford, BC – May 9, 2012 – CDI College has launched a new YouTube video that celebrates graduate success. In the clip, Sam, a recent grad from the Abbotsford campus, talks about her experiences in the Medical Office Assistant program. Her decision to go back to school was greatly influenced by the fact that she was a single parent who valued time at home with her daughter.
“I started school so I could be at home more with her,” she says. “It put me in a totally different field than before. It gave me more of a nine-to-five job, Monday to Friday, which is what I wanted because I am a single mom.”
Sam completed her practicum placement in a busy cardiologist’s office. During this time, she was able to put all of her new found skills to use. And, when the practicum period was over, the cardiologist immediately hired her.
Throughout the video, Sam discusses her motivation for becoming a medical office assistant and what she enjoys most about the job. She also credits her instructors for their commitment and dedication to student success.
