Become a Legal Assistant in less than a year at CDI College!
Law offices are more than lawyers. Legal administrative assistants are a vital part of any modern law practice, working collaboratively with lawyers and paralegals to round out a strong legal team.
Legal administrative assistants are also in demand in British Columbia, with more than 2,200 new job openings being created between now and 2025, and professionals in this field are well-paid, earning a median wage of $24/hr*.
The Legal Administrative Assistant diploma program at CDI College provides the job-ready training – 85%** of our graduates are employed in their field within a year – you’ll need to move into your new career in less than a year.
“Training at CDI College will give you an edge. Our instructors focus on the theory of the law in BC and Canada, and the hands-on skills required to work with clients and their files,” said Sharon Dhaliwal, an instructor in the Legal Administrative Assistant program at CDI College.
“We place an emphasis on fine-tuning valuable skills needed in a law firm, including time management and organizational skills.”
In addition to those skills, you’ll also gain the specialized knowledge to complete legal tasks delegated to you by lawyers and paralegals, including preparing legal documents.
“You’ll learn about legal terminology, court systems, office procedures, legal record keeping, and bookkeeping,” Dhaliwal said. “You’ll also build strong transcription and keyboarding skills and become adept at using common office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.”
The program also includes a 175-hour work experience placement, where you’ll get to test your new skills out in a real law office.
