Hands-on curriculum, one-on-one instruction make all the difference when studying to become an LPN
Surrey, BC – July 30, 2013 – Before signing up for classes, students want to be sure that the program they’re enrolling in will help them achieve their goals. With the Practical Nursing program at CDI College, our alumni success rates speak for themselves. For several years, our grads have achieved 100% pass rates on the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam (CPNRE), a testament to the quality of program at CDI College.
The CPNRE tests Practical Nursing graduates on the competencies they need to safely practice as a Practical Nurse in the healthcare system. Twenty to 30 percent of the exam covers professional, ethical and legal practice; 55-65 percent of the exam covers foundations of practice; and 10-20 percent of the exam covers collaborative practice.
So, how does the Practical Nursing program at CDI College prepare graduates to excel on the CPNRE? First, the curriculum is developed and approved by the local regulatory body, the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia (CLPNBC). Their input ensures that students are learning all they need to know to practice as an LPN in BC.
The curriculum also touches on all of the points covered in the CPNRE, including ethics, legal practice, communication and integrated health. Each term also includes a hands-on, practical experience. By the end of the program, graduates will have worked in a variety of settings and will have practiced everything from medication administration to post-surgical care.
With the right training, and the kind of one-on-one support provided at CDI College, you too could be on your way toward a career as an LPN. Fill out the form to your right to find out how you can get started in the Practical Nursing program at CDI College today.
