Burnaby, BC – November 15, 2011 – Graduates of the Dental Assisting program at CDI College in Burnaby and Surrey, BC obtained 100% passing rates on the National Dental Assisting Examination Board (NDAEB) exam this past September. The grads also scored higher than the national average, continuing the college’s streak for first-time exam writers.
 
Since launching the program in 2007, CDI College dental assisting grads have consistently scored between 97-100% pass rates on the NDAEB exam. In British Columbia, the exam is the first step for grads to obtain their Certified Dental Assistant licenses.

“Once again, the 100% passing rates for both campuses speaks volumes about graduates from the Dental Assisting program,” says Agnes Yngson, Dental Department head at CDI College’s Burnaby campus. “By consistently scoring higher than the national average, our graduates have proven that they can meet and surpass the expectations of the provincial regulatory bodies that govern this profession.”

CDI College’s Dental Assisting diploma program covers the essential components of the dental assisting profession, including dental care, oral pathology and radiography. Students also learn to assist dentists with patients during treatments, perform infection control, keep records and perform practice management and administrative duties. Along with classroom instruction and practical learning experiences in the lab, students participate in practical placements working with a dentist in a private practice.
 
CDI College’s Dental Assisting program is the only private Dental Assisting program in BC to be accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC). Graduates of this program are only required to write the theory exam necessary for licensing.
