Making a career change can be a scary decision for anyone. But, sometimes starting a career in a new field may be the necessary first step toward a more fulfilling life.
One of the best methods for career changers to put themselves out there is to build and develop connections with friends and employers at companies they have previously worked for. A referral from someone who can accurately attest to another's work quality and character holds more weight than virtually any other supplement to an application.
Another thing to keep in mind when starting the job search over again is that a positive attitude can go a long way. Students who maintain a bright outlook on their skills, abilities and chances of landing a desired position reflect those good vibes to anyone they communicate with.
While connecting with others and a positive outlook can help with a career switch, career training may also help strengthen the skills needed to work in a particular career field. CDI College offers the Accounting and Payroll Specialist program that provides students with a fundamental education in accounting principles, including popular commercial accounting software programs. Advanced accounting and business studies are also covered, giving students to earn a well-rounded education that will prepare them to enter new careers in the field.
