The first Friday of October is World Smile Day (October 2), a relatively new holiday with a fascinating story. Created by a commercial artist named Harvey Ball, this day came about as a response to his creation, the smiley face.
As our understanding of mental health grows, we grow along with it. Since the early nineties, mental health had come a long way when the World Federation of Mental Health (WFMH) officially established the day.
Children dress up as Batman, the Joker, Wonder Woman, or some other favourite character; go to parties or walk their neighbourhoods with jack o’ lanterns full of sweets as they go trick-or-treating. Stay safe!

Donna Lee Rayner (Pink Shirt) organized a winter warming clothing drive in one of her classes and some of her classmates. They gathered 48 bags of clothes and money for toiletries and cooked food for the homeless on the weekend.
