Edmonton, AB – April 8, 2013 – CDI College is responding to the growing need for trained massage therapists in Alberta by introducing the Massage Therapy program at its Edmonton South campus. Students can now get the focused, practical training needed to start a rewarding career in massage therapy at in 44 weeks.
“As more and more people use massage to help with medical conditions, injuries and overall wellness, the demand for well-trained professionals will continue to rise,” says Larry Heinzlmeir, VP of Marketing for CDI College. “The Massage Therapy program trains students to provide treatment services for a range of clients and become an increasingly important member of the healthcare system.”
Students in the Massage Therapy program receive the hands-on training needed to launch their careers as massage therapists in Alberta. They’ll study anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and pathology, as well as massage theory and technique. They’ll also learn about clinical assessment, treatment massage, ethics and communication. Along with the theoretical elements of massage therapy, they benefit from practical learning experiences in small classes and through several clinical internships.
Graduates of this program will possess the skills and knowledge to excel as massage therapists in a fitness club, rehabilitation centre, spa or private health clinic. They can also build upon their skills and knowledge in the Advanced Massage Therapy program also available on campus.
