IT Professionals Can Learn of Regional Opportunities at Career Fairs

May 3, 2012 | Alberta

Career fairs provide job seekers an opportunity to connect with businesses and organizations in their particular career fields. They're also excellent opportunities for Information Technology students who are gearing up for graduation to expedite the job search process.

Career fairs can often be overwhelming because of numerous booths and large crowds but organizers tend to make it easier for attendees by providing a layout of the event. Sometimes these maps are available online. IT students and new graduates can use this to make a identify the specific companies they wish to visit and do a little background research on each one beforehand.

Another helpful tactic is to compile all of the necessary professional materials, such as resumes, business cards and portfolio work to give to interested employers. That way, when an employer asks for contact information, the student will be prepared and can hand over a business card immediately.

Students who wish to further their knowledge and skills in IT can enroll in Technology programs at CDI College. For more information on the Network & Database Administrator program or other available courses, fill out the form on the right.
