The outlook for accounting and payroll specialists in Alberta is a bright one, according to The Financial Post. Particularly, the energy field sector is looking to fill numerous positions within the finance field. The type of candidates this industry is primarily looking for are recent graduates.
Ken Vinge, vice president of corporate development for Bowen Workforce Solutions in Calgary, told the Financial Post that energy firms are seeking young adults with knowledge in the industry and strong skills in the finance field.
"When they graduate, those are the first ones they're knocking on the door with a starting position for," he said.
One of the main reasons that the oil and gas industry is seeking multiple specialists in the accounting field is because of the booming levels of energy investment. However, even during the economic downturn, accounting professionals were still a hot commodity.
Overall, the industry is in dire need of accounting professionals, and they generally want fresh-minded college graduates who have knowledge in the field. Students who wish to earn an education in finance can enroll in the Accounting and Payroll Administration program at CDI College. For more information, fill out the form on the right.
