Edmonton, AB – October 5, 2012 – CDI College wants to help the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada grant wishes to children living with life-threatening illnesses this October. A team from the Edmonton South campus is raising funds for the Wishmaker Walk for Wishes on October 13, 2012.
“At CDI College, we believe it’s important to lend our support to our communities in any way we can,” says Larry Heinzlmeir, VP of Marketing. “The Walk for Wishes is truly an admirable event and we’re proud that the Edmonton South team is part of it.
Every year, thousands of children in Canada between the ages of three and 17 are diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada strives to grant the most heartfelt wishes for eligible children, giving them a magic moment when they can forget about their illnesses. Children’s Wish has granted wishes to 18,000 children and their families since 1984 and has never refused a wish to an eligible child.
Now in its eighth year, the Wishmaker Walk for Wishes takes place in more than 100 communities across Canada. By walking and raising funds for the Children’s Wish Foundation, participants are helping make over 1,000 wishes a year become a reality. The Edmonton Walk for Wishes takes place on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Rundle Park starting at 11:00am. Registration time is 10:00am.
