The healthcare sector is growing in many provinces across Canada. One major reason for growth is the number of retirements by members of the baby boom generation. And, just as the generation of Canadians born between 1946-64 reaches retirement age, the country also faces a larger elderly population with an increased reliance on the healthcare system. Residential care homes, senior assisted living facilities and other healthcare services have become urgent necessities to accommodate a growing number of seniors.
As a result, younger generations are pursuing healthcare careers such as practical nursing to improve their chances of landing a job after college, even if it means relocating within their province.
Healthcare students, particularly those who pursue practical nursing careers, have a potentially bright future because of the field's positive employment outlook over the next decade. Those interested can enroll in the Practical Nursing program at CDI College to start their careers. To begin, fill out the form on the right.
